Constitution of the Organization known henceforth as:
NerDFest
We the below signatories state the following as the constitution\by-laws of our organization:
Article #1:
We shall respect everyone that shows up to our meetings and functions. There shall be no harassment or making “fun” of people in any way that may be extremely detrimental to them.
Article #2:
The acknowledgement of elected leadership (a.k.a. dungeon master, game owner etc) and their control, of both meetings and activities, should not be questioned. If there is a conflict, the advisor (or appropriate district personnel) will make a determination.
Article #3:
At all meetings and group activities, fun, sportsmanship and “Taking our minds off of school” are the highest of goals. If you want to ruin “it”, please don’t attend. If a member seems to be having problems of a “personal” or disturbing nature, the appropriate school personnel will be alerted for the benefit of all students.
Article #4:
You will need to supply your own “necessary items and equipment”. If you are wishing to take part in any of the group activities (D&D, Magic, DS, Manga, etc.) you will need to have you own cards, dice, pencils, books or system. The group will not, and can not, supply them.
Article #5:
On the occasion that we meet outside of school, the above rules will apply except the following:
a) We will not hold the school accountable for what we do on our own time.
b) We will continue to adhere to our “respect” clause (#1).
c) We will continue to adhere to our “leadership” clause (#2) with the exception of advisor or district personnel involvement.
Article #6:
That all members of “NerDFest”, while participating in the group at school, will follow all pertinent school rules, policies and codes of conduct as listed in the student handbook. We also will follow Mountain Home High School’s mission statement and philosophy.
In conclusion NerDFest is about fun, camaraderie, enjoyment of various game formats and taking your mind off of school for a short time. It is also about respect for ones choice of game, clothing, literature and fictional style (Dungeon & Dragons, Star Trek, Manga, Hand Held gaming, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, etc). In other worlds: watch, learn, listen, enjoy and maybe experience something new.
